PRESLEY BENDZA
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is to ensure I provide a quality education for all students in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. I believe my role as an educator is to support every student with their learning aspirations, offer flexibility and apply creativity, and to create balance and a sense of belonging within my classroom community. I also believe in leading by example, being an active listener, and teaching from the heart. Therefore, I promise to show up dedicated to lifelong learning, with an open-mind and optimistic attitude for all the opportunities Inclusive Education brings.
BACKGROUND
My name is Presley Bendza and I am a preservice educator currently pursuing studies in Inclusive Education at the University of Calgary. I also hold a previous Bachelor of Commerce degree from MacEwan University in Edmonton, with a major in Human Resources Management.

TEACHING AS A PROFESSION
I am motivated through service and enjoy connecting to a community. Through volunteering with the Centre for Autism and Camp Quality, I discovered my passion for working with children with learning disabilities. I believe there are many ways to communicate and demonstrate understanding, and I value co-learning. I am excited to bring a creative and supportive approach to diverse learning in school. My dream is to someday become a Special Education teacher.

A BIT ABOUT ME...
In my free time I love to travel, go hiking in the mountains, and engage in ongoing learning of many topics via books, podcasts, documentaries, museum tours and more! I begin each day with meditation, yoga, and a workout, and I journal daily to practice mindfulness and gratitude. I think it is important to get to know yourself, set meaningful goals, and to recognize the balance between achieving growth and essential self care.
