PRESLEY BENDZA
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is to ensure I provide a quality education for all students in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. I believe my role as an educator is to support every student with their learning aspirations, offer flexibility and apply creativity, and to create balance and a sense of belonging within my classroom community. I also believe in leading by example, being an active listener, and teaching from the heart. Therefore, I promise to show up dedicated to lifelong learning, with an open-mind and optimistic attitude for all the opportunities Inclusive Education brings.
TEACHING QUALITY STANDARD (TQS)
2. ENGAGING IN CAREER-LONG LEARNING
During my time in the after degree Education program, I became a member of the Education Students Association and attended various professional development sessions held by valuable guest speakers which connects to seeking, critically reviewing and applying educational research to improve practice and maintaining an awareness of emerging technologies to enhance knowledge and inform practice aspects of the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS). This additional learning has helped me acquire knowledge and teaching strategies with respect to building capacity to support student success in inclusive, welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments as well as enhancing understanding of First Nations, Métis and Inuit worldviews, cultural beliefs, languages and values. In addition to these professional development sessions with peers and educational professionals, I have had a chance to work on collaborating with other teachers to build personal and collective professional capacities and expertise through PLC meetings throughout my field experiences with practicum schools.
